I love movies, and I love talking about them. Good ones, bad ones, whatever. I have a particular fondness for older ones any genre, particularly horror, crime, and sci-fi.
To start off my adventures in blogging, I am going to post some old stuff I wrote: reviews of films I saw for a Winter Term project. This did not consist of any films picked randomly off the library shelf, mind you, but ones that were mentioned in a great little out-of-print book by John Springer called Forgotten Films to Remember. The focus is in the title: it looks at British and American films, from 1929 to 1959, that have slipped under the radar; ones that for whatever reason, deserve another look chance. In the month of January, I watched 50 of these films, and wrote my thoughts on them. After a good cleanup, these will be posted here intermittently.
Oh, and as much as I adore Conrad Veidt, this blog is not going to focus on him or his films. But I will make sure get a little Veidt-themed article in, now and then.
